LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Monday expressed grief over the sad demise of Asim Jamil, son of known Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil.
Taking to X, commonly known as Twitter, the former prime minister offered condolence to Maulana Tariq Jamil’s family. He prayed for the departed soul and for the bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity.
مولانا طارق جمیل صاحب کے نوجوان صاحبزادے کی وفات سے دل بہت رنجیدہ ہے۔ بلاشبہ اولاد اللہ تعالٰی کی نعمتوں میں سے ایک بڑی نعمت ہے۔ میں دُکھ کی اس گھڑی میں اُن کے خاندان کے غم میں برابر کا شریک ہوں۔ اللہ تعالٰی مرحوم کو اپنے جوارِ رحمت میں جگہ دے اور لواحقین کو صبرِ جمیل عطا فرمائے۔…
— Nawaz Sharif (@NawazSharifMNS) October 30, 2023Earlier, Maulana Yousaf Jamil disclosed the distressing details surrounding the untimely demise of his youngest brother, Asim Jamil.
Yousaf while addressing the public in a video message provided insight into the painful journey of his younger brother.

Asim's battle with depression was no secret, and his family had been actively supporting him in his fight against the debilitating condition, he said.
Yousaf went on to say that in a bid to put an end to his suffering, Asim Jamil took a drastic step, using a firearm obtained from a security guard.
Asim was laid to rest on Monday.
