ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has announced that a Gaza March is scheduled for Sunday (today).
During a press conference, Haq revealed that the Jamaat-e-Islami planned to organise the march in Islamabad at 2 pm on Sunday, and he assured that comprehensive preparations were underway for this event.
The JI chief asserted that the Gaza march would proceed regardless of the circumstances, and the JI would not be deterred. He added that even though JI's Islamabad chief had been arrested, the party remained committed to supporting the people of Gaza, stating, "Our hearts beat with them."
He criticised the Islamabad administration for resorting to shelling and baton-charge, which he believed cast a negative light on the global situation.
Haq highlighted that Israel had initiated ground attacks on Gaza, which had been engulfed in explosive conflict for the past 20 days.
The JI chief emphasised that while seven hospitals had been destroyed in Gaza and attacks on schools were ongoing, the entire world, including Islamic nations, was closely observing the distressing situation.
He noted that protests were taking place globally, including in France, Chicago and London.
Haq also referenced the United Nations Secretary-General's acknowledgment of the Palestinian struggle for independence.
