LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has dissolved the Pakistan Hockey Federation and suspended all its officials.
A notification of suspension has been issued on the instructions of the Prime Minister's Office. According to the notification, scrutiny of clubs across the country should be conducted under the supervision of the sports board.
The notification states that the PHF election process under the supervision of the PSB should be completed in a transparent manner as soon as possible.
All activities, except the camp and team management of the Asian Games, have been suspended while the selection committee will continue to function.

Earlier, Sports Board Punjab Director General Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said promotion of hockey was government’s top priority as it is a national sport. A delegation of Olympians from Faisalabad and Gojra met the SBP DG at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore and exchanged views on promotion of the national game.
The delegation comprised Olympian Irfan Mehmood, Tariq Imran, Toseeq Arshad, Liaquat Ali and international hockey player Khawar Javed.
