Waseem Mukhtar was picked from three candidates for the post
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Secretary Establishment Division Waseem Mukhtar is likely to be appointed chairman of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) by the federal government.
Sources said on Wednesday that the federal government had finalised the name of Waseem Mukhtar for the post. He is special secretary in Establishment Division of Pakistan Administrative Service.
According to sources, the cabinet is likely to approve his posting through a notification today.
Mukhtar has already served as Pepco and Central Power Purchasing Agency managing director.
Sources said a selection committee picked him from three candidates for the post. The other two were former CPPA MD Abid Lodhi and Nepra member from Sindh Rafiq Shaikh.
It may be noted that Nepra chairman Tauseef Farooqui assumed charge on Aug 5, 2019.
