Bilawal holds 'productive meeting' with USAID administrator in Washington

WASHINGTON (Web Desk) - Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari held a meeting with US Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power in Washington.

Taking to Twitter, the minister, who is in the US on seven-day official visit, said it was a “productive meeting” with the top USAID official.

“Had a productive meeting with USAID Administrator @PowerUSAID. Thanked for her leadership in galvanizing support for flood relief. Appreciated USG’s humanitarian assistance of $97 million. Discussed long-term cooperation for rehabilitation and reconstruction,” reads the tweet.

Ms Power reinforced USAID s commitment to providing life-saving assistance to flood affected communities.

Separately, Bilawal Bhutto also held meetings with Senator Lindsey Graham, Senator Bob Menendez, Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Tim Kaine and appreciated the US support to Pakistan to relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood-hit areas.

The Foreign Minister said the US Congress was playing an important role supporting post-flood recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction in a green and resilient manner.
