LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday issued notice to Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz after petitions were filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) requesting the court to declare  null and void  Hamza’s chief ministership.

The court also summoned the Attorney General Pakistan and Advocate General Punjab.

On the petition by PTI member of Punjab Assembly Zainab Ameer and three others, the LHC Judge Shujat Ali Khan heard the initial case in his chamber. The petitioner s lawyer Azhar Siddique said that the position of defective members is clear after Supreme Court s verdict and Hamza Shahbaz s vote count is no more in majority.

Punjab government s lawyer Assistant Advocate General Tayyab Jan objected on the petition saying that it is not worth hearing as the petition is filed by PTI members. Tayyab further pointed that the petitioners can also start a no-confidence motion against Hamza from the Punjab Assembly.

Tayyab prayed to the court that the petition should be rejected while the court adjourned the case till June 20.
