(Reuters) - A cattle breeder Izzet Kocak, who lives in central Aksaray city of Turkiye, increased milk yield of his cows by using virtual reality glasses.
Kocak tried the virtual reality glasses, which were applied to increase the milk yield of the cows in Russia and had positive results, on his cows, observing increase in the milk yield.
He made two of his cows listen to classical music and watch the images of green fields with virtual reality glasses and observed that the cows started to produce five liters (1.3 gallons) more milk per day.
“We get an average of 22 liters (5.8 gallons) of milk per day from one cow. We increased the amount of milk up to 27 liters (7.1 gallons) in two of our animals. We were able to do this thanks to virtual reality glasses.” he said.
“Glasses makes cows feel at vast grasses and they are emotionally good for animals. Both of these conditions are reflected in milk yield, increasing the quality and quantity of milk,” he added.
He is planning to try the glasses on more of his animals as he already ordered 10 more glasses from the Russian firm.
“I believe that it will be successful because we were able to achieve this success with one eye and it will be more successful with two eyes. Then, if we become successful in 10 of our animals, we would make this innovation in the entire herd,” he said.
Young cattle breeder also suggested the methods to everyone claiming that listening classical music rests the souls of animals.
