Cantonment board elections: PML-N candidate remains winner after recount from Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate remained winner after the recount in the Cantonment board elections in Gujranwala.

Cantonment board elections were held across the country yesterday, PTI candidate had requested for a recount after losing the election from ward number eight of Gujranwala’s cantonment.

At the request of PTI candidate Humayun Rashid, the votes were recounted. In the recount, more votes of both the parties were rejected but PML-N’s Malik Kamran remained as winner.

After the recount, the PML-N candidates won by 5 votes while he had won with two votes before the recount.

According to the unofficial result released by the EC, the PML-N candidate won with 697 votes, while Humayun Rashid of PTI remained second with 692 votes.
