PTI emerges as leading party in Karachi Cantonment board election

According to unofficial results, PTI has won 14 seats in Karachi Cantonment board election.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as the leading political party in Karachi Cantonment board election 2021 on Sunday, Dunya News reported.
According to unofficial results of all 42 seats of the Karachi Cantonment boards, PTI has secured 14 seats. In the 2015 Karachi Cantonment board elections, PTI had won only three seats.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) which had won 14 seats in the 2015 Karachi Cantonment board elections could only win three seats in the 2021 polls.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) emerged as the second largest political party with 11 seats. In the 2015 Karachi Cantonment board election PPP had won only three seats.
Jamaat-e-Islami has secured five seats in Karachi Cantonment board election 2021. Jamaat-e-Islami had won only two seats in 2015 polls.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) could only win three seats in Karachi Cantonment board election 2021. In 2015, PML-N had won five seats.
It is pertinent to mention here that elections were held on 42 seats of Karachi Cantonment board after an increase of 10 seats. In 2015, elections were held on 32 seats of six wards of the Karachi Cantonment board.
