ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected plea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) asking the commission to nullify PP-38 by-election.
The two-member bench announced the reserved verdict.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Chaudhry Ahsan Saleem Baryar had won the by-election with a margin of over 7000 votes.
Baryar came out on top with 60,588 votes, while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate came in second place with 53,471 votes.
The seat fell vacant after the death of PML-N MPA Chaudhry Khush Akhtar Subhani.
