PDM announces to issue white paper on PTI govt's three-year performance

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) – an alliance of opposition parties – on Saturday announced to issued white paper on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s three-year performance and launch a decisive protest movement.
A huddle of the opposition alliance was held in Karachi with chairman Moulana Fazlur Rehman in chair. Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, PPP Sherpao chief Aftab Sherpao and other leaders were present in the meeting.
PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and former finance minister Senator Ishaq Dar also participated in the meeting through video link.
During the meeting, the political situation in the country and future strategies were discussed. The PDM also announced to issue a white paper on the government s three-year performance.
During the meeting, the workers of the PML-N tried to force their way into the hotel leading to a stampede and broke the door, after which the management kicked the workers out of the hotel.
Earlier, PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif, who was present in Karachi, while replying to a journalist s question, said that the public gathering to held in Karachi will definitely succeed.
Responding to another question of the journalist about contacting Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly said, “We will do as you say.”
The leadership of the opposition alliance in Karachi and is scheduled to hold a rally against the government in Karachi on Sunday.
Talking to media after the meeting, Fazlur Rehman said that the alliance has expressed surprise over rising inflation. The meeting also expressed concerns over the unrest in the country.
He said that the PDM will be the voice of the poor nation, while unemployment was declared as oppression in the PDM meeting.
The JUI-F chief said that the PDM will brief the masses on the situation of the government’s three-year performance, adding that the alliance is also keeping an eye on the rights of Sindh, considering its basic manifesto.
“The issues of the province will also be highlighted by the PDM,” Fazl said and added PPP stabbed in the back of the opposition alliance and the issue of PPP should not be discussed.
Fazl went on to say that the selected government would not be allowed to carry out electoral reforms, adding that the opposition will not support illegal action in the name of reforms. “The whole world has rejected the electronic voting machine.”
