Schools in Sindh to reopen from August 30

The educational institutions with 100 percent vaccinated staff will be allowed to reopen.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh education minister Sardar Shah on Monday has announced to commence schools across the province from August 30.

The minister said that only the educational institutions with 100 percent vaccinated staff will be allowed to reopen.The staffers and teachers have to submit their vaccination certificates, he directed.

Sardar Shah further said that the schools will start academic activities with 50 percent attendance of the students.

On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 80 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,127,584. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 25,003 on Monday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 3,772 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 11,557 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 6,612 in Sindh, 4,797 in KP, 852 in Islamabad, 680 in Azad Kashmir, 335 in Balochistan, and 170 in GB. Furthermore, 420,955 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 380,844 in Punjab, 157,148 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 96,390 in Islamabad, 31,845 in Balochistan, 30,746 in Azad Kashmir and 9,656 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 17,276,450 coronavirus tests and 53,881 in the last 24 hours. 1,012,662 patients have recovered in the country whereas 5,390 patients are in critical condition.
