ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday took notice of Minar-e-Pakistan incident where more than 400 men assaulted a female TikToker on the Independence Day.
The prime minister contacted Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Inam Ghani and took details of the incident.
He directed the IG Punjab to immediately arrest people involved in assaulting the woman.
Zulfi Bukhari said in a Twitter message that police were taking action to arrest the accused involved in the incident.
He also pointed out the incident in which the statue of Ranjit Singh was damaged and said that those involved in these crimes could not be released under any circumstances.
A female TikToker had claimed that hundreds of men groped her when a crowd grabbed her and threw her into the air repeatedly during Independence Day celebrations last week.
A video of insulting, assaulting and harassing a female TikToker, in Lahore, went viral on social media.
A case was also registered against 400 persons after Punjab CM Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident.
The victim was filming a video of Tik Tok near the Minar-e-Pakistan National Monument together with six of her friends when a large crowd of more than 100 people reportedly “attacked” them.
