Pakistan cricket team tests negative for COVID-19 in West Indies

The team had reached Caribbean island on Thursday and were tested upon arrival.

BARBADOS (Dunya News) – The Pakistan cricket team members have tested negative for coronavirus, after arriving in West Indies to play the series against the hosts.

The team had reached Caribbean island on Thursday and were tested upon arrival. The Pakistani squad members will resume training tomorrow. The training session will focus on batting, bowling, especially fielding and physical fitness.

After testing negative for novel coronavirus, the room isolation of all the members ended. It may be recalled that on arrival in the West Indies yesterday, the National Cricket Squad underwent Covid 19 testing.

The five-match T20 and two-Test series between Pakistan and the West Indies will start on July 27.

The first two Twenty20 International of the national cricket team series will be played on July 27 and 28 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown.

The third, fourth and fifth T20 Internationals of the series will be played in Guyana on July 31, August 1 and 3, respectively.

Meanwhile, the players in the national Test squad will arrive in Barbados on July 26. They will play their first Test against the hosts August 12-16 and the second August 20-24.
