Schools will reopen with 50 percent attendance: Sindh government

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Primary schools in Sindh have reopened from today with strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) as coronavirus cases decline in the province.

According to instructions issued by the Sindh government, schools will reopen with 50 percent attendance while school teachers and administration have been directed to ensure implementation of government guidelines.

On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 30 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 949,175. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 22,007 on Monday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 907 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 10,642 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,341 in Sindh, 4,269 in KP, 775 in Islamabad, 571 in Azad Kashmir, 301 in Balochistan, and 108 in GB.

Furthermore 345,065 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 332,254 in Sindh, 137,075 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 82,368 in Islamabad, 26,633 in Balochistan, 19,967 in Azad Kashmir and 5,813 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
