200 Lesco feeders trip as windstorm lashes Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Windstorm badly affected power supply in Lahore after 200 Lesco feeders tripped while one person was killed in wind related incident.

The Meteorological Department said that strong winds are blowing at a speed of 40 km per hour in the city at present, which will bring the temperature to at least 25 degrees, while light rain is expected in Lahore and surrounding areas at night.

Power transmission system was affected in different parts of Lahore. These areas include Gulshan Ali, Ali Park, Bhatta Chowk, RA Bazar, Walton Road, Nasheman Iqbal, Garhi Shahu, Qilla Gujar Singh, Shad Bagh, Badami Bagh, Shahdara, Karim Park, Begum Kot, Kot Muhammad, Bilal Ganj, Sheeranwala. , Bhati Gate, Shah Alam, Green Town, Township, Shadipura, Shalamar and Mazang.

Four persons were injured when a roof collapsed in Thokar Niaz Beg due to strong winds while one got killed. The injured have been shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.

According to rescue officials, the injured were identified as Samina 35-year, Akash 14-year, Tariq 30-year, and Khalid 48-year.
