Let the public decide about the budget: Asad Qaiser
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser on Thursday denied allegations of opposition parties and said that he is not biased and suspended seven lawmakers after watching video of rumpus during NA session.
Informally talking to media persons, the speaker said that he will run the house according to rules and law; however, it is right of opposition parties to move a no-confidence motion against him.
Asad Qaiser deplored rumpus in the National Assembly session and said that everyone should listen to others’ opinion but let the public decide about the budget.
NA Speaker said that he tries to give equal time to opposition and government as in 2020, treasury was granted 114 out while opposition got 103 hours.
Earlier, day after the Lower House of the parliament descended into chaos as treasury and opposition lawmakers almost came to blows and hurled objects at each other following loud jeers, slogans and whistles during the speech of Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, the joint opposition on Wednesday decided to move no-confidence motion against Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.
The opposition leaders while rejecting the NA speaker’s decision barring seven Members of National Assembly from entering the parliament over ‘grossly disorderly’ conduct demanded the formation of a parliamentary committee with equal representation of the government and the opposition.
