Record 383,000 people vaccinated against coronavirus on May 29: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Sunday has said that record 383,000 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus in one day on May 29.
In a post on social-networking website, the minister told that over seven million people have been administered coronavirus vaccine so far. Over 16 crore people have registered themselves for the vaccination, he added.
On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 56 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 918,936. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 20,736.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 2,697 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 9,982 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,014 in Sindh, 4,060 in KP, 757 in Islamabad, 540 in Azad Kashmir, 276 in Balochistan, and 107 in GB.
Furthermore 339,073 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 316,752 in Sindh, 132,170 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 81,116 in Islamabad, 25,083 in Balochistan, 19,170 in Azad Kashmir and 5,572 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 13,169,358 coronavirus tests and 55,965 in the last 24 hours. 839,322 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,017 patients are in critical condition.
