Rupee falls by 37 paisa against USD

The greenback closed at Rs154.50
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The exchange rate of US Dollar increased by 37 paisa in the interbank on Tuesday against Pakistani rupee. The greenback closed at Rs154.50 on second business day of the week compared to previous closing of 154.13.
Since start of April, dollar has strengthened by 1.2 rupees or 0.78 percent. However, the greenback has lost 13.93 rupees or 8.62 percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.
Meanwhile, the price of euro appreciated by only 2 paisa and closed at Rs186.48 against the last working day’s trading of Rs186.46, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.
The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.43, whereas a decrease of 8 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs214.57 as compared to its last closing of Rs214.65.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 10 paisa each to close at Rs42.06 and Rs41.20 respectively.
