Rupee falls by 54 paisa against USD

The greenback closed at Rs153.30 rupees
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The exchange rate of US Dollar rose by 54 paisa in the interbank on Thursday against Pakistani rupee. The greenback closed at Rs153.30 rupees on fourth business day of the week compared to previous closing of 152.76.
However, since start of March, dollar has declined by 4.73 rupees or three percent. The greenback has lost 15.13 or 9.4 percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.
Meanwhile, the price of euro appreciated by 48 paisa and closed at Rs179.89 against the last working day’s trading of Rs179.41, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.
The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.38, whereas an increase of 85 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs211.25 as compared to its last closing of Rs210.40.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by about 15 paisa each to close at Rs41.73 and Rs40.87 respectively.
