CM Buzdar approves procurement of COVID-19 vaccine

Rs1.5 billion have been allocated for procurement of coronavirus vaccine.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday approved procurement of coronavirus vaccine for the province.
Talking to media persons along with provincial health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid and SACM on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan, Usman Buzdar said that 1.5 billion rupees have been allocated for the purchase of vaccine doses. He further said that coronavirus positivity rate in some cities of the province is over 12 percent and urged people to take precautionary measures.
The Chief Minister further said that system is stretching thin due to situation of the virus in the province; however, he announced that government is establishing more vaccination centers to speed up the inoculation drive.
It is pertinent to mention here that coronavirus cases in Punjab are rising to an alarming level. As many as 2789 cases of coronavirus were reported in Punjab on Thursday, while the pandemic claimed 64 precious lives in 24 hours which turned the death toll to 6,427.
