Rupee gains 55 paisa against USD

The greenback closed at Rs154.04 rupees.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The exchange rate of US Dollar fell by 55 paisa in the interbank on Monday against Pakistani rupee. The greenback closed at Rs154.04 rupees on first business day of the week compared to previous closing of 154.59.
While Dollar fell by 60 paisa in the open market and sold at 154.60 rupees.
Pakistani rupee is at about 22 month high last time as this level was seen in June 2019. Since start of March, dollar has declined by 3.99 rupees or 2.6 percent. The greenback has lost 14.39 or 8.9 percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.
Meanwhile, the price of euro was depreciated by 84 paisa and closed at Rs181.25 against the last working day’s trading of Rs182.09, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.
The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.40, whereas a decrease of 17 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs212.78 as compared to its last closing of Rs212.95.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal decreased by 14 paisa each to close at Rs41.93 and Rs41.07 respectively.
