Pakistan Day parade to be held today

Contingents of the three armed forces and paramilitary forces will take part in the march past.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Day parade, which was postponed due to  inclement weather, will be held in the federal capital Islamabad today (Thursday), Dunya News reported.

Contingents of the three armed forces and paramilitary forces will take part in the march past while par gliders of armed forces will perform free fall jumps. Fly past of fighter aircraft of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is also part of parade.

Strict security measures will be in place in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to avoid any untoward incident. Entry of heavy traffic will remain suspended till 1:00pm today. The route from Zero Point to Faizabad Road will be closed from 6:00am to 1:00pm.

Mobile phone service will also remain suspended in different parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The government has declared March 25 as a public holiday for the citizens of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on the occasion of Pakistan Day Parade. The holiday has been announced by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat in his tweet
