ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The PTI government on Monday decided to keep the price of petrol unchanged till March 31. However, the prices of kerosene and light diesel have been raised.

The Federal government has decided that the price of petrol will remain Rs 111.90, high speed diesel Rs 116.08 while light diesel will now cost Rs 81.42 and kerosene Rs 83.61.

On Sunday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) denied that it had sent a summary to the government proposing a hike in the price of petroleum products.

A statement issued by OGRA said that the news about the prices of petroleum products is speculative. The OGRA spokesperson said that speculation could lead to the purchase of petroleum products in chaos, therefore, speculation regarding prices should be avoided.

It was being reported that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had proposed, an increase of Rs5.50 per litre in petrol prices from March 16.

This is the second consecutive time that the government has decided against raising petrol prices. On February 28, Prime Minister Imran Khan rejected OGRA’s summary proposing an increase of Rs 6.22 in petrol prices.
