PML-N urges members to cast vote in Senate polls as per their conscience

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday has urged the members of the assemblies to cast votes in the Senate polls as per their conscience. Talking to media, the PML-N leader said that he is not an astrologer to predict the win of anyone in the elections. The bad performance of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is in front of everyone, he added. PML-N senior leader and former Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that he is 110 percent hopeful for the victory of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) member and joint candidate of opposition’s Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Yousaf Raza Gillani in Senate polls. PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the opposition is in contact with the disgruntled members of PTI. The country has suffered under the premiership of Imran Khan, she added. Marriyum Aurangzeb said that PTI government is standing in the Parliament only due to its coalition parties.
It is to be mentioned here that the voting for high-stakes elections of the Senate is underway through secret ballot in the Parliament House and provincial assemblies of Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The lawmakers are voting for 37 vacant seats of the Senate as 11 Senators from the Punjab have been elected unopposed.
Two senators will be elected from the federal capital, eleven from Sindh and twelve each from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the federal capital, Abdul Hafeez Sheikh of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are vying for the general seat whilst for the women seat, Fauzia Arshad of PTI and Farzana Kausar of PML-N are in the field.
