Chief Minister of Punjab was acting on orders of PM Imran: Muhammad Zubair
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Muhammad Zubair on Thursday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is actual culprit of rigging in the NA-75 Daska by-elections.
Talking to media persons along with PML-N candidate from NA-75, Muhammad Zubair claimed that Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar was acting on orders of PM Imran as about 20 presiding officers returned together in only 3 police vans.
On the other hand, Nosheen Iftikhar, who is PML-N candidate from the constituency, expressed hope that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will order re-election in entire NA-75.
It is pertinent to mention here that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has reserved its verdict on NA-75 Daska by-elections case. During the proceedings, PML-N lawyer Salman Akram Raja asked the commission to allow him to submit additional documents and proofs but the bench rejected his appeal and remarked, “You have already completed your arguments in the previous hearing.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Barrister Ali Zafar has said that the election commission can hold investigation over halting voting process in the constituency but, the inquiry trial is the mandate of Election Tribunal.
Earlier, the returning officer had recommended to hold re-voting in 14 polling stations in the constituency while the PML-N had demanded re-elections in the entire constituency.
Previously, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja said re-polling could be held in the constituency if the commission found that the elections were not conducted in a fair way.
The returning officer told that there was no difference in the results of polling stations 50, 47, 9 and 140. The results of three polling stations were received on Watsapp with a delay, he told.
