Petroleum products likely to go up by Rs 5

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The fuel prices are likely to go up for the sixth consecutive time in two and a half months after Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended a hike in fuel prices from February 16, 2021.

The federal government has once again started preparing to increase petrol prices. From February 16, petroleum products are likely to be increased by Rs 5. OGRA has sent its working to Petroleum Division in this regard.

According to sources, the rate of petroleum levy is Rs 30 per liter on petrol. The government also has the option of maintaining prices by reducing the levy. The Prime Minister will decide on the prices of petroleum products.

The government has increased the price of petroleum products five times in two and a half months. Petroleum products have become more expensive by Rs 16.37 since December 1. In the same period, petrol price was increased by Rs 11.21 per liter.

Since December 1, high speed diesel has been increased by Rs 14.64 per liter. In the same period, kerosene oil was increased by Rs 14.90 per liter and price of light diesel was increased by Rs 16.37 per liter.
