Nadeem Afzal Chan resigns as Spokesperson of Prime Minister

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Nadeem Afzal Chan has resigned from his post as Spokesperson of Prime Minister, however he has not left PTI. Nadeem Afzal Chan had exchange of words on Twitter with another PM’s spokesperson Shehbaz Gill on last Sunday over the issue of Machh incident where 11 coalminers were brutally killed by the terrorists.

Nadeem Afzal Chan had tweeted, “I’m ashamed over the bodies of these helpless labourers.” In response, Shehbaz Gill tweeted without mentioning Nadeem Afzal Chan’s name, “When your leader makes a difficult decision, it is also difficult to defend him. It’s easy for me to keep quiet, disappear from the media and support the narrative popular among the masses.”

Nadeem Afzal Chan answered back that “This is a reflection of my weak faith that I showed sympathy with the victims. Today’s popular narrative is to hurl abuses at politicians. I have never done this and I would not do it now.”
