Sit-in protests continue in Karachi to express solidarity with families of Machh coal victims

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sit-in protests organized by religious parties to express solidarity with families of the victims of the Machh coal mine attack continue at 15 different places in Karachi, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.

The main sit-in protest by the religious parties has been organized at the Numaish Chowrangi. Apart from this, the sit-ins protests are going on at Abbas Town, University Road, Korangi, Power House Chowrangi, Malir-15, Five Star, Nazimabad, Kamran Chowrangi, Colony Gate, Natha Khan, Shahra-e-Pakistan, Ancholi and Johar Moor.

A large number of Ulema, men, women and children are participating in the sit-in protests. The protesters said that they are aware of the difficulties being faced by the people as different roads of the city are blocked due to sit-in protests.

The protesters are of the view that they will continue their protest as long as the sit-in protest by Hazara community members with the coffins of slain coal mine workers continues in Quetta.

On the other hand, the city witnessed the worst traffic jams on various highways due to sit-in protests and citizens remained stuck in their vehicles for many hours.
