NEPRA approves Rs1.06 per unit hike in power tariff

The decision will put additional burden of over Rs8 billion on consumer.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday approved Rs1.06 per unit increase in power tariff under the fuel adjustment mechanism for the months of October and November.
According to the authority, a hearing was conducted on plea of Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA). NEPRA has given approval to increase the price of electricity by Rs1.06, adding a burden of Rs8.40 billion to power consumers.
77 paisa per unit hike in electricity tariff has been approved for the month of November while 29 paisa per unit hike for October’s fuel adjustment.
