WELLINGTON (Dunya News) – Wellington Firebirds defeated Pakistan Shaheens by nine wickets in the second T20 match at Basin Reserve in Wellington on Tuesday.
After being put into bat, Shaheens were bowled out for 91 in 17.4 overs. Danish Aziz top-scored with 28 off 31 (one four and one six). Usman Qadir contributed an unbeaten 23 off 16 (two fours and one six).
For Wellington Firebirds, fast bowler Jamie Gibson took three for 30, while right-arm leg-spinner Peter Younghusband grabbed two wickets for 12.
The hosts chased down the target in the 10th over for the loss of one wicket. Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra contributed 76-run for the second wicket. Devon scored an unbeaten 48 off 32, while Rachin returned undefeated on 35.
Pakistan Shaheens will take on Canterbury in the third T20 Bert Sutcliffe Oval at Lincoln on 1 January 2021.
