Punjab Thermal Power Plant will be completed soon: CM Buzdar

Usman Buzdar said establishment of alternate power plants is also under consideration.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said the Punjab Thermal Power Plant is moving towards its completion with rapid pace and will provide cheap electricity to public.

The CM was addressing a ceremony regarding signing of Rs 100 billion financing between the Punjab Thermal Power (Private) Limited and consortium of banks. He said establishment of alternate power plants is also under consideration.

“The government is improving electricity supply system along with production. Cheap power is obtained from solar, wind and hydroelectric plants. Two hydropower plants have been completed in Pakpattan and Head Marala.

“7,000 primary schools along with one DHQ hospital have been shifted to solar power system. Solar and biogas electricity plants will be established in Vehari and Samundri.

“After completion of all the projects, Punjab will become self-sufficient in electricity production and capable of providing cheap electricity to other provinces.”
