LAHORE (Dunya News) – I was dropped from international cricket because of my beard and not my bowling action, former Test cricketer Shabbir Ahmed made startling revelations on Wednesday.
He said, “A senior official of the cricket board in 2007 called me and said the cricket board was becoming a liberal board and if I want to play cricket I would have to be clean shave to which I refused.”
Shabbir went on to say that a false propaganda had been made against him. He said he had offers to play for Australia but he refused Daryl Foster saying he cannot leave his country.
It is pertinent here to mention that Shabbir Ahmed took 51 wickets in 10 Test matches for Pakistan. He also played one T20 match along with 32 ODIs.
