After Lahore rally, PDM leadership meets to discuss future strategy

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Leadership of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) meets today in Raiwind to discuss future strategy of the anti-government movement.

As per details, anti-government alliance is meeting today in Jati Umra to deliberate on resignations from assemblies, long march towards Islamabad and other plans of action.

The meeting is being attended by PDM head Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, Chairman of Pakistan People Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Vice-president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz and other leaders from political parties that are part of the opposition alliance.

Earlier during PDM Lahore rally, Maulana Fazlur Rehman announced a long march in late January or early February and said that opposition will take the resignations in hand during long march.

He said that this political struggle is for free democratic atmosphere in Pakistan. Power will be in the hands of people in the future, the system of rigging will not work.

Addressing a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, he said the wounds are deepening. The element of anger and resentment is growing. We have to live as a nation.

On the other hand, Maryam Nawaz said that country’s development, sugar, wheat and flour have quarantined during the incumbent government’s tenure.

The PML-N vice president further said that Imran Khan was asking for NRO today but now Nawaz Sharif would not give NRO to those who were stealing bread and snatching the development of the people.
