Allegations of custodial deaths, plea bargaining baseless: NAB
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has declared the allegations of deaths in custody and force plea bargaining as baseless and announced legal action against those who leveled baseless allegations.
A statement from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said no one was killed during the detention. Anti-corruption operations will continue under the leadership of NAB Chairman Justice Javed Iqbal.
The NAB said that the plea bargain was accepted by the accountability court on the plea of the accused. Anyone who plea bargain is disqualified from contesting elections for ten years.
The statement said that the statement of the accused is also recorded during the plea bargain. The NAB has rejected all media reports accusing the NAB. The NAB will issue legal notices to all those who have made baseless allegations.
The NAB has said that the accused should prove their claim within 14 days, otherwise legal action will be taken against them as per the law.
