Will raise the issue of human rights violations by NAB on international level: Saleem Mandviwalla
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Deputy Chairman of Senate Saleem Mandviwalla has called National Accountability Bureau (NAB) a blackmailing organization and said that people only go for plea bargain to save their honor.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan earlier assured of neutral accountability and Chairman NAB also said that traders will be facilitated but whenever someone makes a statement against the bureau, the anti-graft watchdog issues him a notice.
Saleem Mandviwalla said that he has raised this issue with PM Imran Khan and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in his letters to them and the matter will also be investigated in Senate committee of human rights.
He also vowed to raise the issue of human rights violations by NAB on international level.
On the other hand, Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has taken notice of allegations by Deputy Chairman of Senate Saleem Mandviwalla and sought complete record of the concerned case.
Chairman NAB, while directing the Rawalpindi office to not take any further action before considering all legal elements of the case, said that the anti-graft watchdog respects all parliamentarians and decision about further action will be taken after considering all sides of the case.
He also said that point of view of Deputy Chairman Senate will also be heard so that all legal requirements can be fulfilled.
