He said the dialogue with the opposition is stalled on NAB cases.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday said that people had voted for Prime Minister Imran Khan for accountability and the PTI cannot back down from its manifesto.

Speaking exclusively in Dunya News program “Ikhtalafi Note” on Sunday, he said that the last discussion with the opposition on the backdoor channel was held regarding Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

The minister said that PM Imran Khan has no personal fight with former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, adding that the prime minister has said he is ready to talk apart from National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases but the dialogue of the opposition is stalled on corruption cases.

Chaudhry went on to say that neither PM Imran will discuss the NAB cases nor come to a compromise, while the opposition is not ready to go beyond its cases.

He said: “The government wanted to take the cases against former rulers to logical conclusion, adding that the dialogues can only take place when the opposition would say it will fight cases in the courts. In addition to the cases, the opposition should have a dialogue, he said.

He said that the opposition openly criticized the army and Urdu language in its rallies organized under the banner of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Gujranwala, Karachi and Quetta. He asked how this narrative would work, adding that the opposition is not going against government but going against state. The opposition should reconsider its statement.
