CM Punjab advises caution to control rising coronavirus deaths

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that complacence in adhering to coronavirus SOPs has resulted in increasing number of new patients. He urged the public to realize its responsibility to stop the spread of the virus.

A statement issued by the Punjab Chief Minister on Thursday said that effective and timely measures taken by the government had restricted the spread of coronavirus but now, the number of deaths and active patients is increasing day by day due to negligence of the public.

Usman Buzdar said the month of October saw a jump in the number of coronavirus patients. Precautions must be taken in educational institutions, business houses, shopping malls, and public places, otherwise, the risk of cases rising even further cannot be ruled out.

In the last 24 hours, 171 new cases of corona have been reported and 5 patients have died in Punjab while the number of active cases has reached 2424. The total death toll in the province stands at 2324.
