Four high profile accused managed to escape in Karachi making police useless
KARACHI (Dunya News) - In one month, the accused in four high profile cases have escaped due to the poor performance of the investigation police of South District of Karachi.
According to details, Karachi District South police are facing failure with allegations of bribery. The escape of the accused in high profile cases and the collusion of the police with the accused have raised many questions.
Adil Zaman, accused in the murder of a private TV anchor during his court appearance on September 10, escaped after his bail was revoked, but South Investigation Police have failed to make an arrest.
On September 21, accused Junaid and Waqas, arrested in the Dr Maha case, escaped from the court premises. Accused Junaid alleged that Sharafat Khan, a South Investigation officer, received a bribe of Rs. 100,000 to facilitate.
On September 22, a woman named Salwa was allegedly abducted and raped in Defense. Investigative police could not arrest the accused after the case was registered. The accused had fled to Jacobabad after staying in Karachi for two days.
