Fake accounts case key witness Aslam Masood passes away

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Aslam Masood, an accountant of Omni Group and a key witness in NAB fake accounts case, passed away on Monday. He is reported to have been suffering from kidney disease.

In addition to Omni Group, Aslam has also been the accountant of former President Asif Ali Zardari. He was accused of laundering Rs 54 billion from 107 fake bank accounts.

Aslam was arrested by Interpol in October 2018 while leaving London for Jeddah after which he was brought to Islamabad in February 2019, where a four-member team of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) took him into custody from the airport.
