Mosquito tornadoes hit southwestern Russia

Windows or door nets are useless in keeping the mosquitoes out of the houses.

(Dunya News) – Heavy rains and unusual warm weather conditions have caused a mosquito infestation in the Voronezh region in southwest Russia, creating fear among the residents. According to the locals, windows or door nets are useless in keeping the mosquitoes out of the houses - with the insects getting through in the smallest of cracks.

They said, “It is scary to go out in the evening because they fly towards all lights. We got used to such insects last year - but there were far fewer. Now there are swarms of them.”
