Narowal Sports City case: NAB seeks time to file reference against Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal on Friday has said that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan doesn’t represent Riyast-e-Madina, but Soviet Union.

Talking to media after the hearing of Narowal Sports City corruption case, the PML-N leader has called Imran Khan as Pakistan’s Gorbachev, a Russian and formerly Soviet politician, adding that the premier has risked the entire sugar industry to save thieves.

He has alleged National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of arresting the people without evidence. Those who made grounds for sports are facing corruption cases, he added.

During the hearing, NAB has sought time from accountability court to submit reference against Ahsan Iqbal, saying that witnesses are not appearing due to coronavirus fear.

The PML-N leader expressed anger over NAB‘s statement asking why he was put in jail for two months when there were no witnesses. Meanwhile, the court has summoned report from NAB over not presenting Narowal case reference. You [NAB] have to answer why the reference has not yet been filed? asked accountability judge. Subsequently, the proceedings have been adjourned till July 20.
