Ministries, divisions spends Rs 611b for development work during current financial year
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - In the current financial year, federal ministries, divisions and departments have spent more than Rs 611 billion on development works.
According to a document of the Ministry of Planning and Development issued from Islamabad, over Rs 272.73 billion was released for federal ministries and divisions during that period. More than Rs 49 billion had been released to improve the security situation.
National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) and Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) received development fund of Rs 20.65 billion, more than Rs 8 billion was released for development projects of the Ministry of Finance. More than Rs 8 billion had been released for the Ministry of National Food Security.
More than Rs. 7.64 billion had been released for the projects of the Ministry of National Health. More than Rs 173 billion was released for National Highways Authority (NHA) projects while the Ministry of Water Resources received a development fund of Rs 103 billion.
More than Rs. 10 billion development funds were released for the Ministry of Railways and more than Rs. 8.67 billion was released for the Railway Division. Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan received a development fund of over Rs 43.56 billion. More than Rs. 35.18 billion has been released for the Cabinet Division.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) had received a development fund of Rs. 28.28 billion. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Rs 23 billion was released for the 10-year development plan of the amalgamated districts, while Rs 14.87 billion was released for other projects of the amalgamated districts.
