KARACHI (Dunya News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has sent a questionnaire to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in the fake accounts case.
According to details, NAB has asked 28 questions from Sindh Chief Minister in the investigation of illegal contracts of solar lights.
NAB questioned why as Finance Minister he released funds illegally in the Roshan Sindh program and why were the Finance Secretary’s objections ignored?
NAB also questioned why Roshan Sindh program was started without checking its feasibility and why was no attention paid to the Chief Secretary’s identification of feasibility under PC2?
The questionnaire further asks why the Additional Chief Secretary’s statement calling solar lights "substandard" was ignored and whether it is true that you could not satisfy the committee set up by the Sindh High Court on the project?
NAB further asked whether it was true that he released funds at the behest of Sharjeel Memon, the mastermind of the scandal and did Sharjeel Memon receive kickbacks by awarding contracts to favored companies. NAB also asks CM Murad regarding the companies involved in corruption with Sharjeel Memon returning money through plea bargain.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has been directed to submit written answers to NAB Rawalpindi within two weeks. The decision to summon him again or not will be taken in light of the written reply.
