Shoaib Akhtar receives summon notice from FIA

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has received a summon notice from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

It may be recalled that Shoaib Akhtar had hurled sharp criticism against Tafzal Rizvi in a video on social media. Shoaib had declared Tafzal Rizvi as incompetent for his position. Following the criticism, Tafzal Rizvi, the PCB’s legal adviser, had filed a cyber crime petition against the former fast bowler.

Former Pakistan cricket team fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been summoned by the FIA Cyber Crime wing on June 5.

Shoaib Akhtar received a notice from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) legal adviser Tafzal Rizvi, after which Shoaib has started consulting his lawyer Abu Zar Salman Khan Niazi. The fast bowler will respond to the FIA notice after consulting with his lawyer.

Earlier, Shoaib Akhtar’s lawyer said that he had not received any notice from the Federal Investigation Agency. If the FIA notice is received, then they will decide whether to appear or not. If the FIA’s notice and summons are against the law, they will challenge it in the High Court.
