AAIB team starts probe into PIA plane crash incident

No individual of any relevant institution or department will be included in the investigation
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Aircraft Accident Investigation Board team has started probe into the PIA plane crash incident.
According to a spokesperson of the national flag carrier, the investigation team is collecting evidences from the accident site.
He said a ten-member technical team, having expertise in handling queries regarding air crash incidents, has been attached with the investigations to support the probe body.
The Spokesperson said government has expressed the desire that the investigation team should ensure impartial and transparent inquiry without accepting any pressure and wasting time for which all state resources will be provided to the investigators.
He said any individual of relevant institution or department will not be included in the investigation team so that he may not influence the investigation process.
He said such organizations will only provide information and required documents.
The Spokesperson said Prime Minister Imran Khan wants utmost transparency into the investigations of plane crash and will not allow any group or organization to influence the probe.
He said Imran Khan wishes to have compiled the investigation report in shortest possible time and made the findings public to fix the responsibility of loss of precious human lives.
He said Prime Minister believes that the entire nation is in a state of shock and in such a situation, manoeuvring to safeguard personal interests, is tantamount to rub salt on the wounds of bereaved families.
The PIA spokesperson urged the public to stay away from the evils of self-styled experts and rioters and not to believe the fake news spread on social media.
Meanwhile, out of 97 deaths in PIA plane crash, 39 dead bodies have been handed over to the families.
Remaining 56 dead bodies are held at two mortuaries and awaiting DNA match and identification.
The process of DNA matching has already been commenced and all families and relatives of the plane crash victims are in contact with Pakistan International Airlines.
