Local bodies elections in KP postponed amidst corona outbreak

Condition of low population has been removed for delimitations of neighborhood and village council.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - KP government decides to postpone Local bodies elections in province considering the emergency situation due to coronavirus outbreak. Adviser to the Chief Minister KP on Information, Ajmal Wazir on Thursday said once situation in province improves, elections will be held.
As per details, KP cabinet session was held under CM Mahmood Khan in which contemporary situation was discussed. After the session, Ajmal Wazir talked to media and said that KP local council is to permit delimitation rules 2019 as they are approved delimitation process to start soon.
Condition of low population has been removed for delimitations of neighborhood and village council. On the other side, citizens opine that this step of postponement is a reasonable and good one.
Under local government new rules, more amendments to be presented in next session of cabinet. According to new local rules, number of members of neighborhood and village council will be seven.
