COAS directs corps commanders to extend assistance to mitigate suffering of people

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday presided over 231st Corps Commanders’ Conference in Rawalpindi.

According to statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Corps Commanders participated through Video Link from respective Headquarters.

The forum reviewed geo strategic, regional and national security environment with particular emphasis on latest situation arising from novel coronavirus pandemic.

The forum under took comprehensive review of deployment of Pakistan army troops assisting civil administration in aid of civil power across the country.

The forum was apprised on the functioning of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) established to synergize & articulate National effort for containment of the COVID-19.

The forum also paid tribute to doctors, paramedics, health care workers and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for braving the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic under the challenging environment.

The forum also paid tribute to the Kashmiri people who are fighting the pandemic under Indian atrocities and struggling for their just cause of self-determination.

Appreciating the troops in the field for efforts so far, the COAS directed all commanders to extend maximum assistance in moving critical resources and reaching out to mitigate the suffering of people in far-flung areas including Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), Interior Sindh and Balochistan.

Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said that every citizen counts as we strive to scale this calamity. He said that being a nation with a vibrant youth and resilient people ready to share & sacrifice, we will emerge stronger from this challenge Insha’Allah.
