ML-1 project cost increases by Rs 154 billion.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Main Line-1 (ML-1) project cost has increased by Rs 154 billion as the plan has been changed for sixth time, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
According to details, the National Assembly was on September 30, 2019 told that the project cost is $ 8.20 billion; however, the new figures show that it will now be completed in $ 9.24 billion.
An 1872 kilometers long railway line will be constructed from Karachi to Peshawar under the ML-1 project which is expected to be started soon.
It has been learnt that 43 percent of the first package will be spent on the Rawalpindi section. The Pakistan Railways spokesperson told that the cost has surged due to inflation.
