Zafar Iqbal appointed as new ECP secretary

Acting CEC appointed Zafar Iqbal as the new ECP secretary.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Election Commissioner of Punjab Zafar Iqbal Hussain has been appointed as new secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as Babar Yaqoob to retire on Dec 31.
According to ECP’s notification, acting chief election commissioner (CEC) has appointed Grade-21 official, Zafar Iqbal, under the role of ECP secretary.
Sources told that the new CEC will decide whether Zafar Iqbal will continue as ECP secretary or a new appointment will be made. Babar Yaqoob was on a year-extension after completing his four-year tenure.
